We have a slew of epic activities planned for the week but if you find yourself with any free time, check out this list of ClueCon Hotspots. Everything on this list is less than 30 minutes from the hotel.

Millennium Park music series:

Head down to Millennium park’s Jay Pritzker Pavilion to catch these free concerts. Bring a picnic blanket, some sandwiches, and family and friends while you listen to the various genres of featured music.

Millennium park features many other attractions to check out during the day. Take a selfie with The Chicago Bean, stroll through Lurie garden, or wade in the Crown Fountain art installation featuring 50 foot towers that project human faces.

Movies in the Park:

Millennium Park also presents free outdoor movies for everyone to enjoy. The park is only 10 minutes from the Swissotel which makes it easy to get to at any time of day. Make the most of the beautiful Chicago summer weather and spend some time outside!

The Drop Lounge

An underground bar with DJ and cave-like decorations. Before 12:00am it is the perfect place to lounge and chat with your friends, after 12 the dance atmosphere picks up. There is no cover and it is open until 4 am.

Lizzie Mcneill’s Irish Pub

Over the river and through the woods to Lizzie Mcneill’s we go. What makes this bar special is that it is a short 10 minute walk from the Swissotel and sits on the beautiful Chicago river. This Irish pub offers a variety of delicious foods until 11:00 pm and any drink you can dream up until 2:00 am.

Emporium Arcade Bar is the perfect hub for anyone who loves alcohol and classic video games. They have 47 different arcade games, 11 pinball machines, live music, 28 draft beers, and a full bar. Each game is a quarter to play…just like the good ol’ days.

Navy Pier:

Navy pier is a Chicago Landmark and is home to several great attractions. You can’t fully experience the joys of Chicago without stopping for a small shopping spree. Magnificent mile features over 460 different retailers and three different vertical shopping centers. Ohio Street Beach is the closest beach to the Swissotel and is fully equipped with a snack bar, restrooms, and an on duty lifeguard. Lake Michigan is beautiful during the summer, it’s impossible to resist wading in the water to cool down on a hot day.

Theatre:

Chicago is well known for its active theatre scene. There are so many great shows going on this summer so be sure to catch one before you leave! The famous Hamilton is playing this August, as well as Comedy Sports, or free Shakespeare in the park put on by Chicago Shakespeare. This year they are doing A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
