Recordings and broadcasts

As a moderator, you have access to features for both recordings and broadcasts.

You can record your SignalWire Work sessions directly from within the SignalWire Work interface.  Once completed, SignalWire Work recordings are available to administrators as MP4 files.  Contact your administrator for additional details.

To manage a local recording and/or broadcast:

  • From the Main menu, choose the Settings submenu
  • Choose the Recordings tab
  • Click Record to File, Local Broadcast Server, or Remote Broadcast Server
  • Both broadcasting options offer a checkbox to Record to a file as a Backup
  • When done, return to this tab and click Stop Recording
Local Broadcasts

In addition to its use as an interactive conferencing and virtual office platform, SignalWire Work can be used for broadcasting and streaming.  For broadcasts, SignalWire Work supports a number of modes for supporting broadcasts.

When broadcasting locally, SignalWire Work includes its own Web-based broadcast player that is available whenever the conference is broadcasting.  The URL is:

https:// {your SignalWire Work domain}/stream/ {your room}

In addition, your listeners can connect directly to a SignalWire Work local broadcast via industry standard player protocols.

  • HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) — https:// {your SignalWire Work domain} :5443/hls/ {your room}/index.m3u8
  • MPEG-DASH — https:// {your SignalWire Work domain} :5443/dash/ {your room} /index.mpd

For local broadcasts, you can also choose to record locally.

To connect to local broadcasts:

  • Instruct your meeting moderators to enable local broadcasts from the Recordings tab of the Settings submenu
  • Have client software (e.g., VLC) connect to either HLS (HTTP live streaming) or MPEG-DASH streams. The URL formats are:
    • HLS — https:// {your SignalWire Work domain} :5443/hls/ {your room} /index.m3u8
    • MPEG DASH — https:// {your SignalWire Work domain} :5443/ {your room} /index.mpd
Remote Broadcasts

You can also choose to send broadcasts a remote RTMP server and choose whether to keep a local recording.

To send broadcasts to a remote RTMP server:
