# Port phone numbers out of SignalWire

> Get the account number and PIN from SignalWire Support, then submit a port request with your new carrier.

To move a phone number from SignalWire to another carrier,
get the number unlocked by SignalWire Support first, then submit the port request with the new carrier.
You can port out any number listed under **Phone Numbers** in your SignalWire Space.

> **Contact SignalWire Support before your new carrier**
>
> Wait until SignalWire Support sends you the account number and PIN before you submit the port request with your new carrier.
> Your new carrier can reject a request for a number that SignalWire hasn't unlocked yet.

## Cost

Unlocking a number for port-out costs \$5.00 per number.
SignalWire charges the fee when Support processes your ticket and sends you the porting details.

## Port out your numbers

#### Request the porting details from Support

Open a support ticket from the **Support** button in your [SignalWire Dashboard](https://my.signalwire.com/dashboard) and choose **Create a ticket**.
List every number you want to port out.

Support unlocks the numbers and replies on the ticket with the account number and porting PIN.

#### Submit the port request with your new carrier

Fill in the port request form your new carrier provides.
Enter these values wherever the form asks for your current provider's details:

| Port request field | Value |
| :----------------- | :----------------------------------------------- |
| Account number | From the Support ticket |
| Porting PIN | From the Support ticket |
| Address | 228 Hamilton Ave, 3rd Floor, Palo Alto, CA 94301 |

## Confirm the port

Your new carrier confirms when the number has ported out of SignalWire.
If the new carrier rejects the request because the number is locked,
check that Support has replied on your ticket first, then resubmit.
