SignalWire now supports the G.729 voice CODEC.
G.729 is sometimes preferred over other voice codecs due to its ability to compress media (voice in this case) up to 8x more than the other codecs that are typically used in VOIP applications. Some SIP endpoints would make use of this codec to help the operator gain maximum bandwidth efficiency in their network.
In order to make use of G.729 in SignalWire, your endpoints simply need to send or receive media using that codec.
How much does it cost?
There is currently no additional cost to use G.729 on the SignalWire network.
